American Civilization Foundation: The National Museum of American Illustration is operated and administered by the American Civilization Foundation, a 501(c)(3), IRS approved nonprofit organization. It is an independent, educational and aesthetic foundation, dedicated to bringing the greatest American illustration art to the public.

Since normal museum income does not cover annual operating needs, we must look to the benevolence of our visitors and supporters to assist the NMAI. We solicit donations once each year at our Annual Appeal, but gifts and donations are welcomed at all times to help the NMAI last in perpetuity.

An IRS approved 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization

Gifts to the Museum are made through our nonprofit, American Civilization Foundation, and may be made in cash, securities, artworks, real estate, and other forms of property. Naming and memorial-giving opportunities are available as well. Gifts may be made unrestrictedly or alternatively they may be directed to specific needs of the Museum or tailored to the goals of the donor(s). Additionally, deferred giving options are available which may provide significant income and tax benefits to the donor(s).
